Hanson International Academy Celebrates Diwali, the traditional Indian festival of lights at Vancouver on October 19th 2017.
Diwali as known as Deepavali is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated every year in autumn which spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, hope over despair, and good over evil.
Diwali celebration at Hanson start in advance as first semester students organized the Bhangra Dance Workshop one day before the Festival. The student Jarmanpreet Kaur dressed up in traditional Indian dress and taught all her classmate how to dance Bhangra. They gather and dance, enjoy the happiness.
On October 19th 2017, Diwali celebration at Hanson consisted of tons of delicious food. Celebration always a good way to take a break from stress of exams. Students enjoyed samosas, pakoras, and some Indian sweets in the student lounge.
Hanson has put an emphasis on activities in order to cultivate stronger cross-cultural relationships between students.
